I had big plans to run on Saturday by Wheeler Peak (Great Basin National Park), but it was raining and we had to pack up camp. I'm pretty bummed about that. Of course, it did save me from trying to run at 10,000 feet. :)

I did get to run in the Uintas, this morning. We kept seeing signs warning us that this was bear country, so I was pretty vigilant about my surroundings. Our elevation was 8,300 feet, so I could feel my lungs working extra hard. The morning was beautiful and cool (kind of cold). Ben ran with me, which I enjoyed and felt kind of bad about. He really shouldn't be running with his current shin condition, but he didn't want to send me out on my own. He's a definite gentleman.

My mileage the last three weeks has been ridiculous! I have had some hiking days with serious uphill hikes, but not as much running as I'd like. Traveling has been killing that. I worry that I'm losing the ground I gained for the Bryce 1/2...

Don't know if I should have run this morning. I haven't been feeling well for the past two days, but I went anyway. I was kind of hoping that it'd help. Unfortunately, it was just a rotten run. I felt like throwing up for the first two miles and had a stabbing pain in my side the last 2.75, except for the .25 I walked. Yep, I walked. It was horrible.

The rest of the day, I've continued to feel sick. Is it just post-trip yuckiness that I need to run through? Or do I have a bug? Not sure. But, I would like to run in the morning. Not sure if that's a good idea, either...

I felt kind of weak, today, but at least I didn't feel like vomiting. And, no piercing side ache to stop it all. Just an easy one to see how I'm feeling. Ready to pick the mileage back up next week.

Cooler weather—loved that! Feeling a little weak from fasting, tomorrow, but did pretty well considering.

I didn't feel great when I woke up but felt much better after running. Nothing intense; just a nice run. The weather was nice and cool, again. Lovin' it!

Foremaster! It's been a while, but I still felt good. Well, as good as is possible running up that monster. :)

Definitely not enough sleep, but that's what happens when family is visiting. Felt good to get up and start the day with a run, though. And, the cooler weather was so nice.

86*—Yuck! I felt okay, but that heat was not fun. I am really looking forward to consistently cooler mornings.

Foremaster, again! Next time, I might have to switch directions so I run up across the top instead of enjoying the downhill across the top. I've only done it once, and I hated it, so I really should conquer it.

Temps were a little cooler this morning. I'm grateful for that. Sure makes a difference.

Feeling kind of yuck this morning, but was fine to run. I think I'm just tired.

85°—That was the temp this morning when I started. I think it cooled a couple of degrees during the run, but it was HOT! Got to run with Ben, which is always nice. It is also always faster, and I totally pooped out after mile 4. The last three were tough.

I did make it over Foremaster (the longest side) during mile 5, so I still feel tough. :) I am now ready to let my legs rest. They totally ran out of steam. Not sure if it's the heat alone or consistently not enough sleep or some nutritional issue. I'd love to figure it out so I don't feel this way after only 7 miles.

Another run with Ben, which means it was faster than I have been, lately. It was warm, but under 80°, so I'm thrilled with that. I think my two days of lots of food paid off in more energy, too. I've got to figure out my eating. It's killing me.

Good run!

Nice and easy. Extremely warm, but not humid, at least.

90°! That was the temperature when I headed out. I knew I was in for it the second I walked out the door. Fortunately, I recently read an article about surviving running in the heat, and it really helped my psyche. I just took it slow and did the miles. And, I was SLOW! But, I ran it and made it up Foremaster, again. That's 2x/week for two weeks straight. I WILL be strong at that hill.

A great run with Ben. He always pushes me to move a little faster, which I can really use right now. We ran a little further than we intended so we could run by the stream where it was a bit cooler. Felt nice!

My usual 6-mile Foremaster loop, but backwards! I did it! It requires running uphill (after climbing Foremaster) for more than a 1.5 miles. It was much better than the last time I did it (4 years ago). I wasn't fast, but I felt strong!
