I enjoyed running with my MIL, again. We had a great run with a couple of tempo miles at the end. It feels a little weird to run such a short distance, but it's taper time!

So, a week away from the marathon. I was planning this to be an easy run with the possibility of a few tempo miles. It turned into a fast (for me) run. Average pace: 8:34. I feel so good, too! My pace averages are usually between 9:30-9:50, so this was a lot faster. Could I be reaching a new speed threshold? I really hope so. I'll keep my marathon goal the same, but future goals could be bumped up a bit. Maybe Boston isn't the 20 years out I thought it would be.

After my speedy run, yesterday, I was determined to finally set a new PR for a 5K, under 27 minutes. I know that's slow for a lot of people, but I've never run a 5K under 27 minutes. I was happy with my time. I ran Garmin-less, so I just tried to push my body to a level I could hold for three miles. It felt good!
